Spread the love
How was everyone’s weekend? This was our first weekend home in about a month – between going home to Chicago, then Hawaii, then San Diego, we haven’t had a weekend at home in a while. It was nice getting the chance to catch up and get organized.
My favorite part of the weekend was organizing the gifts that I bought my little cousins to ask them to stand up in the wedding!
As a kid, I loved arts and crafts. As an adult, I have less of a reason to do them. Every once in a while, I’ll make something for the house for a holiday, but it’s not like whipping out the paper maché as a kid. This weekend was TOTALLY different.
First, someone let me loose in a Michael’s, which is always dangerous. Initially, I was drawn to white and silver glitter, but I decided to match our theme for the wedding, which is blush and white. I bought some silk flowers (one stem had about four flowers on it, so I bought three stems), white wrapping paper, and a blush/cream colored ribbon.
For the boys. I found the cutest shop on Etsy – she sells laser engraved baseballs! I had the boys’ names, their role, and our wedding date engraved. Some say junior groomsmen and some say wedding usher (we decided to ask the oldest from each family to be a junior bride/groomsman and the youngest to be a wedding usher).
For my soon-to-be teenage cousin, I appealed to her current love of beauty products and bought her Lush bath bombs. Check out this adorable card:
All of my cards are from Etsy – I found a wonderful seller who custom-made cards for me.
We are asking my four-year-old cousin to be our flower girl, and I found the most adorable book entitled The Very Fairy Princess: Here Comes the Flower Girl!
I wrapped the baseballs with packing peanuts and tissue paper in 4×4 cardboard boxes that I bought at Michael’s. After wrapping with white wrapping paper, I tied a bow with the blush ribbon, cut off one flower from the silk stem, and tied it into the ribbon. I then tied the bow on top of it!
It was such fun. I’m loving all of the details of the wedding planning process! Shop my picks throughout this post!
