My grandma loved a good deal. She prided herself on staying insanely up to speed on the local circulars and knowing exactly WHICH store had Crest on sale and which stores to buy canned goods and which stores to make sure you avoid for produce. She was as thrifty and shrewd as they came, and nothing made her giddier than an unexpected savings.
One of the last times I saw my grandma, we took her to Coney Island restaurant because she LOVED their cream puff hot fudge sundaes. Coney Island always sent out a birthday coupon for a free cream puff hot fudge, and she was so frustrated with herself because she’d some how lost track of it. My mom spoke to the manager and explained the situation, and she graciously agreed to honor the lost coupon. My grandma was quite literally a kid in a candy store.
She was a depression era baby – she understood the value of a dollar and stretched it as far as she could. She was as generous and stylish and beautiful as they came, but she was smart about how she spent her money.
Today, I harassed my grandma’s shrewd eye and took the Jane $100 Outfit challenge! My grandma would have loved Jane. It’s a fast-paced online marketplace that aims to help customers stay in style and on a budget. The best part is, they also support small businesses across the country! Every day, they reveal 350+ new offers from stylish brands and boutiques and all these deals are up to 65%!
I’d like to say that it was a hugely difficult feat to come up with a complete outfit under $100. But honestly, Jane’s selection is WIDE and VARIED and AFFORDABLE!! My grandma would have been giddy at the prices and even giddier to see the outfit I put together. She always loved fashion. I got this adorable quilted vest for $19.99 and the striped tunic for $21.99. These knee-high boots were only $33.99, and these fleece-lined leggings were only $5.99!!
Jane and I want you to take the $100 outfit challenge with me – head over to @nataliegeorgette to enter to win a $100 Jane gift card!
