How was everyone’s weekend!? Mike has been working a ton (it’s tax season), so Millie and I are spending a lot of Saturdays just the two of us. The weekdays are so crazy that I’ve been enjoying taking ONE day during the week to do nothing (I should clarify that NOTHING usually entails grocery shopping, going to the dog park, cleaning the bathrooms, and doing laundry – so not NOTHING. But nothing work related :)). Since Millie is a bit less talkative than I am, I’ve always got Friends on for some background noise.
Anyone else listen along to Friends without REALLY watching? I know exactly what’s happening – I don’t even have to look at the TV – but somehow, the familiar jokes are still funny, and the company is still comforting.
My cousin (who is not a Friends fan – don’t even ask me to explain), set aside his distaste for the show and recently bought me I’ll Be There For You: The One About Friends.
You guys – I’m embarrassed to say that I haven’t read a book in the longest time, and I devoured this. It was chock full of all sorts of little-known Friends anecdotes, fascinating historical context (especially for us 90’s babies that didn’t fully grasp larger social issues during the time of the show’s initial airing), and a thoughtfully written justification as to why Friends will always be there for us. For anyone who finds comfort, or relief or joy from watching the show, this book is proof that you’re not alone.
Comment with your favorite Friends episode!! There’s a lot more going on that I can’t wait to share with you – hopefully later this week. Until then, how adorable is this outfit?! The tee, jeans, and windbreaker are under $75!! You can shop everything here.
